An Agent is a computer with the Cruise Agent software installed. Cruise Server uses agents to do the jobs you assign Cruise, for example compiling software, running tests, and deploying your application.

Each agent can perform one job at a time. If you want to run several jobs at the same time, you will need an agent for each job you want to run concurrently. If you are just beginning with continuous integration, you should start with the free two agent edition. Then you can buy more agents as you need to scale your build cloud.

• In order to use Cruise , you need a license.
• Along with a 30-day trial download you get 6 agents. This license is emailed automatically with the download. If you would like to get a trial license with unlimited agents, contact us at studios@thoughtworks.com
• Once the trial license expires, you can buy a license or contact us at studios@thoughtworks.com
• Perpetual licenses are tied to major version number, unless you buy support, in which case you’re entitled to all upgrades while you keep buying support.
