New in Mingle 2.1

Mingle 2.1, a major update to Mingle, offers enhanced workflow management capabilities, multi-level access control and an enriched user experience. With the release of Mingle 2.1, Project Managers can get more actionable intelligence through real-time collaboration data.

Enriched user experience with multi-level access control

When you have several projects going on, all stakeholders may not need the same degree of access to all projects. Use Mingle 2.1 to set four levels of access depending on the extent of project participation. Manage workflow easily with automated transitions that follow gestures made on Mingle’s card wall views.

Handle project complexity better with easier-to-use Card Trees and Hierarchies. Take reporting to a new level, with new macros for creating write-once-reuse-often reports. Use new card properties to simplify project traceability.

Highlights of Mingle 2.1

Project Planning and Collaboration:

  1. List/Hierarchy View: Sort columns on the Hierarchy View using column headers to display cards in ascending/descending order, while retaining the card context. Retain the expanded/collapsed state of cards in the Hierarchy View even when moving between different views. View the current tree configuration in any of the views (list, hierarchy, grid and tree) without having to switch to the admin tab.

  2. Tree View: Render card tree layout using a mix of the horizontal and vertical card tree structures to display the parent-child relationship of cards. Use tree scrolling controls to navigate through card tree structures.

  3. Card Property: Create Lightweight card mappings without creating card trees. Replace a long and exhaustive list of cards for the relationship assignment with a clearer filtered list for defining card relationships.

Metrics and Management:

  1. Excel Import/Export: Allow users to do a bulk update via export of complex card descriptions, without impacting Excel columns.

  2. Advanced (MQL) Filter: Use both basic and advanced filters on a view, wherein the advanced filter allows the user to be more specific and merge several filtering options into the MQL query.

  3. Macros: Customize charts within cards using the ‘THIS CARD’ option in the macros and make it easier to reuse macros during reporting.

Team Productivity and Workflow:

  1. Transitions & Workflow: Modify card values as per the transition and remove cards from the tree altogether, without user intervention. Improve transition 'sets' section for tree and the tree properties as the property listing is grouped and clear. Allow the users to provide optional fields during transition completion making it simpler to use. Automate an implied transition, capturing all the data and information during drag and drop thus keeping metrics accurate.

User Role Management

  1. Read-Only and Anonymous Access: Allow organizations to set up projects with anonymous user access. This premium feature allows participating organizations to set up a project based access level for a set of users to view relevant project information without authentication. Allow the addition of read-only project members that can view the project related details in a read only mode, but prohibiting any updates. For organizations needing less than full capabilities for certain user types, a “Light User” license is now available for purchase with certain packages.
